This Privacy Policy describes how "Tobli: What is this called?" ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information. Our app is a speech-based vocabulary learning game designed for children aged 3 to 6 years old. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and comply with applicable child privacy laws.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Our app does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Personal information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)

• Photos or videos
• Contact lists
• Browsing history
• User accounts or login credentials
• Audio recordings of your child's voice

3. Microphone and Speech Recognition

The app uses the device microphone to listen to your child say the name of objects shown on screen. Here's how it works:

• Audio is processed entirely on-device by the operating system's built-in speech recognition service (Google Speech Recognition on Android).
• The app receives only the text transcription result — never the raw audio.
• No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted by our app.
• If microphone permission is denied, the app provides a tap-to-answer alternative so your child can still play.

4. Advertising

Our app displays ads provided by Google AdMob. We have configured our ad implementation with child-safety protections:

• Ads are tagged for child-directed treatment
• Only age-appropriate ads are served
• No personalized advertising is used for children

The Google AdMob SDK may collect certain device information (such as advertising identifier and device type) for the purpose of serving contextual ads. This data is handled by Google according to their Privacy Policy. No personally identifiable information about your child is shared with advertisers.

5. Data Storage

All app data (game progress, stars, coins, settings) is stored locally on the device only using AsyncStorage. This data:

• Never leaves the device
• Is not backed up to any server
• Is deleted when the app is uninstalled
• Cannot be accessed by other apps

6. Internet Usage

The app uses an internet connection for:

• Fetching educational content images from our content server
• Displaying advertisements via Google AdMob

The app also works offline using built-in content categories. No personal data is transmitted over the internet.

7. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — for displaying ads. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Speech Recognition — on-device speech processing (no data sent to our servers)
• Expo Updates — for delivering app updates. No user data is collected.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our app is designed for children and we take their privacy seriously:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
• There are no user accounts, social features, or chat functionality
• There are no in-app purchases
• There is no user-generated content
• Children cannot share information with third parties through our app
• Ads shown are age-appropriate and non-personalized

9. Parental Controls

Parents can:

• Disable microphone access through device settings (the app provides a tap-based alternative)
• Control ad settings through device-level parental controls
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
